In this respect, we seek to provide grants supporting medical societies, universities and medical education experts to provide ethical and innovative programs focused on filling the needs and professional practice gaps of healthcare professionals. We support non-promotional and transparent medical education with a global or regional focus.

Medical education we support with grants

Medical Education is defined as any educational program/activity supporting healthcare professionals' development in terms of medical knowledge and skills. Merck Healthcare KGaA supports the following three types of medical education:

  1. Independent Medical Education (IME): Educational activities with an independent and non-promotional scientific program that can be funded but not conducted or controlled by a pharmaceutical company.
  2. Continuing Medical Education (CME): IME activities that receive CME or CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits by official accrediting bodies.
  3. Fellowships: To support the development of healthcare professionals who have completed their primary specialty training, through grants to medical societies and other scientific organizations.

To apply for grants, please check the currently open requests for proposals (RFPs) and call for grants (CFG).
